Riddhi & Cubs
Tigress Riddhi, officially designated as T-124, reigns supreme over the picturesque Zones 3 and 4 of Ranthambore National Park. Born around October or November 2018 to the esteemed Tigress Arrowhead (T-84), Riddhi lineage to the legendary Machali, often hailed as the "Queen of Ranthambore." Dominion Over Zones 3 and 4 Riddhi's territories encompass the prime tiger habitats around Padam Lake, Raj-Bag, Malik Lake, and the Mandoob area within Zones 3 and 4. Nurturing the Next Generation In early 2024, Riddhi was observed with three cubs, marking her first litter. These young tigers, now approaching sub-adulthood, have been frequently sighted alongside their mother, exploring and learning the intricacies of survival within the park. Notably, a rare and captivating moment was captured when Riddhi and her cubs were seen crossing Rajbaug Lake, a testament to her nurturing demeanor and the thriving tiger population in Ranthambore. Impending Territorial Disputes As Riddhi's cubs mature, the natural progression towards independence looms. Male cubs, in particular, will venture to establish their own territories, often leading to confrontations with resident males or even among siblings. Such territorial disputes are inherent to tiger behavior, ensuring the distribution of healthy genes and the maintenance of ecological balance within the park. A Remarkable Predatory Feat Demonstrating the formidable hunting skills imparted by their mother, one of Riddhi's cubs achieved a significant milestone by successfully hunting a baby alligator. This rare predatory event underscores the adaptability and prowess of Ranthambore's tigers, reflecting a diverse diet and the dynamic predator-prey interactions within the park's ecosystem. Upholding a Storied Legacy Riddhi's lineage is a tapestry of Ranthambore's rich tiger heritage. Her great-grandmother, Machali (T-16), was renowned for her hunting prowess and contributed significantly to tiger conservation awareness. Machali's daughter, Krishna (T-19), and granddaughter, Arrowhead (T-84), continued this legacy of strength and adaptability. Today, Riddhi embodies these ancestral traits, ensuring that the legacy of her forebears thrives amidst the wilderness of Ranthambore. In essence, Tigress Riddhi not only exemplifies the enduring spirit of her lineage but also plays a pivotal role in the ongoing narrative of conservation and natural splendor within Ranthambore National Park.
